They all refer to themselves as sexy, but you know better, and that’s why you’ve chosen Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde to win the previous editions of Vanguard’s Sexiest in Nollywood.

Sexiest in Nollywood started in 2008 like a joke but that joke was taken seriously by the public and it became a hype that rocked the entertainment industry like a thunderbolt. It was simply meant to be a public opinion poll but the attention it got turned it into an award of sort with the industry watchers buying the idea, Vanguard says.

Looking through Nollywood, I’d still vote Genevieve or Omotola-these aging actresses look younger everyday, and most of these young folks can’t even compete with them. But sadly, they are not eligible for nomination.

“The only alteration to this year’s ‘quest’ is that the past winners are not eligible to vote. The past winners which are not eligible in the quest are: Jim Iyke, 2008 Sexiest Man in Nollywood; Desmond Elliot, 2009 Sexiest Man in Nollywood, Genevieve Nnaji, Sexiest Woman in Nollywood 2008 and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Sexiest Woman in Nollywood 2009. Apart from these four past winners, every actor or actress in Nollywood is eligible for nomination,” says Vanguard.

Genevieve Nnaji was the Sexiest Woman in Nollywood with Ini Edo and Mercy Johnson in second and third places respectively, when the first edition held in 2008.

Fans can crown the actors and actresses they believe are the sexiest in Nollywood just by voting for them; text the name of your choice: Sexiest Man and Woman to 08052201215. Multiple voting is allowed, so even if he/she’s not really sexy, you can still make them win because it’s the vote that counts. Voting shall be published every Saturday in Saturday Vanguard.
