Soldiers Shoot Selves, Fake Illness To Avoid Fighting Boko Haram
In a desperate bid to avoid being deployed to the
troubled North-East, Nigerian soldiers are now inflicting harm on
themselves,Tribune reports.
At the weekend, seven soldiers allegedly opened fire
on different parts of their bodies and later claimed that Boko Haram
terrorists shot them, but when medical examination was carried out on
them, it was discovered that the shots were self-inflicted.
Other soldiers also pretended to have various strange ailments in a bid to avoid being sent to war,
Some of those involved have been arrested while a board of inquiry has reportedly been set up to investigate the allegations.
