No, not till death do us part: 93-year-old father of Mel Gibson divorces 78-year-old wife
At their age you would think they’d just get along but Mel Gibson’s
staunch Catholic father Hutton Gibson, 93 went on to finalise the
divorce from his wife, Teddy Joye Hicks, 78 after about 12 years being
married.
According to TMZ,
they would both spilt $22,000 worth of separate property. Hicks, has
more than $640,000 in cash and savings as separate property, and will
keep the couple’s Lincoln Town Car while Hutton will be taking away
$22,595.
Hutton married Hicks two years after the death of Mel’s mother, Anne. Hutton and Anne had 11 children between them and he now has 50 grandchildren.
At the time of filing Hutton’s lawyer, Fahi Hallin told Radar: ‘I’m
hoping this divorce won’t be contentious. I’m not at liberty at this
time to discuss why my client has decided to file for divorce, or why he
is seeking spousal support.’
Hutton cited irreconcilable differences in the documents, which were filed on June 1, 2012.
