Six months after the Ministry of Aviation grounded the airline following the June 3 plane crash, Dana Air will resume operations this Friday.
According to their company website, the first flight will take off at about 9.45 a.m. on Friday January 4, from the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, for Abuja.
Dana Air Corporate Communications Manager, Tony Usidamen on Wednesday said that VIPs, journalists, celebrities and political figures will be among the first set of travelers, PM News reports.
‘The airline, which was adjudged the best in the country before the ill-fated plane crash, will have to rebuild confidence among weary Nigerian travellers’.
Dana currently has five planes in its fleet.
The Dana Website has re-launched its online booking platform for the purchase of tickets.
Dana Air was re-awarded its Air Operators’ Certificate few weeks ago, and was certified by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, safe for flights.
On June 3, 2012 a Dana Aircraft with license number MD 83 Flight 992 crashed in Iju environ of Lagos, killing close to 160 people.
