The
Super Eagles of Nigeria, were once again in irresistible form on
Wednesday evening, as they defeated Mali 4-1, to progress to the finals
of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Stephen Keshi’s men, flew off the blocks in the first half, passing
the ball confidently and pressing the Malians back. Elderson Echiejile,
stooped to head Nigeria in front, after excellent work from Victor Moses
on the right. Moses again sent Emenike sprinting down the right, to
square for Brown Ideye, who made it 2-0. Emenike then saw his free-kick
deflect off Momo Sissoko in the Malian wall, as they went it 3-0 up at
the break.
After the interval, Ahmed Musa, on in place of Moses, make it 4-0,
after a sublime pass from Mikel Obi set him free on the right.
Mali grabbed a consolation in the dying minutes, but it was Nigeria
who marched into the finals, where they will face Ghana or Burkina Faso
on Sunday
