Aluu Killings: Police arrest mastermind of UNIPORT students’ murder
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of the alleged
mastermind of the killing of the four UNIPORT students murdered in the
Aluu community in Rivers State.
The suspect’s name was given as Coxson Lerebori Lucky, also known as, Bright.
Lucky was declared wanted immediately after the four students, Ugonna
Obuzor, 18; Lloyd Toku, 19; Tekena Elkanah, 20, and Chiadika Biringa,
20, were killed.
The students were accused of stealing laptops and smartphones, an
allegation which has been declared untrue by the police authorities.
According to reports, the arrested suspect allegedly raised the false
alarm which led to the mob action and eventual murder of the students.
Twenty-one people have so far been arrested and the IG of police has
ordered an inquest into the alleged involvement of police men and have
promised to bring to book any officer found involved in the killing.
