A
mother and father in Nox Bar, Washington are facing child endangerment
charges after leaving their children in the car while partying at a
local nightclub.
The children–a boy and girl–ages five and three, respectively, were
found by off-duty police officers in the back of their parents’ car with
the windows rolled up and the sunroof open.
While responding to a call about an altercation,
officers discovered one man in the group possessed a gun, and another
gun and a ski mask in the back seat of a car. This sparked further
investigation of vehicles in the area. When the children were found
Wednesday morning, they were hungry but otherwise unharmed.
The parents were identified as Misty Robinson, 34, and Alvin Degar,
30–the children’s stepfather. Both were jailed with charges of child
endangerment pending.
Family members are still questioning why Robinson and Degar did not
reach out for help with child care
