The convoy of the Governor of Imo State; Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha was involved in an accident in Orlu Local Government Area of the state. The Governor sustained head injuries in the accident which was a head-on collision.
Street journal gathered that the accident occurred while the Governor was on an inspection tour of some projects that were being worked on around Orlu.
According to Ebere Ozoukwa, the Governor’s media aide, “Governor Okorocha sustained a minor injury which is a minor cut on his head but he is presently in a good and stable condition and has been attended to by medical personnel.”
In a statement signed by Ozoukwa, Imo indigenes were advised “not to panic and should go about with their normal duties since the Governor is in a good and stable condition and responding to necessary treatment.”
There had been rumours around the state that the Governor was seriously injured and had to be flown abroad as he was in critical condition.
